Dated: April 8, 2026 Adopted: April 8, 2026 RESOLUTION-SALE OF 10540 ACADEMY LANE, REMSEN, NEW YORK WHEREAS, the Town of Remsen is the owner of a certain .839 acre, more or less, parcel of real property located at and more commonly known as 10540 Academy Lane, Remsen, New York, improved with a building which formerly housed the Remsen Town Offices, but is no longer used by the Town and which parcel of property is now unneeded for Town purposes; and WHEREAS, a written purchase offer was duly received from Shawn Wellinton-Norton and Todd Wellinton-Norton for the purchase by them of said premises for the sum of $135,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Town Board is desirous of selling the said property to generate revenue and to minimize the expense incurred in maintaining the property which is unneeded for Town purposes; and WHEREAS, the Town Board has received counsel from its appraiser that acceptance of the Wellinton-Norton offer for $135,000.00 would now be in the Town's best interest; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT: RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes the sale of the said parcel of real property with the improvements situate thereon, located at 10540 Academy Lane, Remsen, New York for the sum of $135,000.00 and that the Town Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate said conveyance; and be it further RESOLVED, this resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to the applicable provisions of the Town Law and, in connection therewith, within 10 days after the adoption of this resolution by the Town Board, the Town Clerk shall, as set forth in Town Law §90, post and publish a notice which shall set forth the date of the adoption of this resolution and contain an abstract of this resolution, concisely stating the purpose and effect thereof, and that such notice shall specify that such resolution was adopted subject to a permissive referendum. Upon the questions of the adoption of the foregoing resolution the following voted AYE: Thomas cDonald Supervisor Voted AYE George Hurlbut Councilman Voted AYE Michael Spadaro Councilman Voted AYE The resolution was thereupon declared to be adopted.
