BRONXVILLE UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT 177 Pondfield Road, Bronxville COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER, NEW YORK NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING – MAY 7, 2026 NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING, BUDGET VOTE, AND ELECTION-MAY 19, 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Public Hearing on the 2026-2027 adopted budget of the Bronxville Union Free School District, which is in the Village of Bronxville, Town of Eastchester, County of Westchester, State of New York, will be held in the AUDITORIUM LOBBY, 2nd Floor, Bronxville Public School, 177 Pondfield Road, Bronxville, New York in said School District on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 7:00 PM prevailing time. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required to fund the School District’s budget for 2026-2027 may be obtained by any resident of the District during business hours beginning Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the said School District’s Office of the Assistant Superintendent for Business, by email: dcarlin@bronxvilleschool.org or in person at 177 Pondfield Road, B205, Bronxville New York 10708, telephone number (914) 395-0500 Ext. 3310, upon prior appointment only. A Real Property Tax Exemption Report prepared in accordance with Section 495 of the Real Property Tax Law will be annexed to any tentative preliminary budget as well as the final adopted budget of which it will form a part and shall be posted on the District’s website on or before Tuesday, April 28. 2026. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Annual School District Election and Budget Vote of the qualified voters of the Bronxville Union Free School District, Village of Bronxville, Westchester County, New York will be held at The Bronxville School, 177 Pondfield Road in said School District on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 between the hours of 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, prevailing time, in the Blue Gym (entrance located on Meadow Avenue) at which time the polls will be opened to vote by machine or paper ballot upon the items described below: 1. To vote on the Annual Adopted Budget of the School District for the fiscal year 2026-2027 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the District. 2. To elect TWO (2) members of the Board of Education each for three-year terms commencing July 1, 2026 and expiring June 30, 2029 for the positions currently held by Sara Kenny and Christina Skinner. 3. To vote on any additional propositions as the Board of Education may deem proper to place before the voters. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that pursuant to policy adopted by the Board of Education and in accordance with Section 2035 of the Education Law, any question or voter proposition to amend the budget not requiring official notice in the call of the Annual Meeting may be voted upon at said meeting, provided a Petition signed by at least fifty-two (52) qualified voters of the district is filed with the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM prevailing time at least thirty (30) days prior to the annual election (April 20, 2026.) Said Petition must be typed or printed; and must state the name and the legal residence of each qualified voter. However, the School Board will not entertain any petition to place before the voters for any proposition the purpose of which is not within the powers of the voters to determine, or any proposition which fails to include a specific appropriation where the expenditure of monies is required. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that petitions nominating qualified candidates to the office of member of the Board of Education shall be filed with the Clerk of said School District in the District Office of the Bronxville School, 177 Pondfield Road, Bronxville New York 10708, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, except holidays, not later than Monday, April 20, 2026. Each petition nominating a candidate shall state the name and residence of the candidate, shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the District, and shall state the legal residence of each signer. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the qualified voters of the School District shall be entitled to vote at said annual vote and election. A qualified voter is one who is (1) a citizen of the United States of America, (2) eighteen years of age or older, (3) a legal resident within the School District for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding the annual vote and election and must not claim the right for vote elsewhere, and (4) who is not otherwise prohibited from voting under the provisions of NY Election Law. The School District may require all persons offering to vote to provide one form of proof of residency pursuant to Education Law 2018-c. Such form may include a driver's license, a non-driver identification card, a utility bill, or a voter registration card. Upon offer of proof of residency, the School District may also require all persons offering to vote to provide their signature, printed name and address. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that applications for early mail and absentee ballots are available between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, except holidays, from the Office of the District Clerk, 177 Pondfield Road, Room B201, Bronxville New York, 10708, telephone number (914) 395-0500 Ext. 1316, clourentzatos@bronxvilleschool.org.Applications will also be available on the school district website, www.bronxvilleschool.org. Completed original early mail and absentee ballot applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election (Tuesday, May 12, 2026) but not earlier than thirty (30) days prior to the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or by 3:00 PM on the day before the election (Monday, May 18, 2026). Early Mail and Absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM, prevailing time, on the date of the election, Tuesday, May 19, 2026. A list of persons to whom early mail and absentee ballots are issued will be available for inspection in the District Clerk’s Office beginning on or after May 13, 2026, during regular office hours until the day of the election, and on Saturday, May 16, 2026, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., upon prior appointment only, telephone number (914) 395-0500 Ext. 1316, clourentzatos@bronxvilleschool.org. Any qualified voter prior to the election may, upon examination of such list, file a written challenge of the qualifications as a voter of any person whose name appears on such list, stating the reasons for such challenge. Such written challenge shall be transmitted by the District Clerk to the election inspectors on election day. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Military Voters who are qualified voters of the District may obtain an application for a military ballot from the District Clerk at 177 Pondfield Road, B201, Bronxville, NY 10708, Telephone (914) 395-0500 X1316, or email: clourentzatos@bronxvilleschool.org. Upon such request for a military voter ballot application, such military voter may indicate his/her preference for receiving the application by mail, facsimile or electronic mail. Completed military ballot applications must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM on April 23, 2026. The voter’s original military ballot application and ballot must be returned to the District Clerk by mail or in person. Military ballots will be mailed or otherwise distributed no later than 25 days before the election. Military ballots must be received by the District Clerk (1) before the close of the polls on election day and showing a cancellation mark of the U.S. postal service or a foreign country’s postal service or showing a dated endorsement of receipt by another agency of the U.S. government or (2) by 5:00 PM on election day and signed and dated by the military voter and one witness thereof, with a date which is ascertained to be not later than the day before the election.
