 Legal Notice # 21928766 PUBLIC NOTICE TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS of the BALDWIN FIRE DISTRICT of the TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD, Nassau County, New York. The following is a true copy of the Resolution duly adopted on MARCH 3, 2026, by the BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS aforesaid, at the meeting of said Board held at the Fire Headquarters, 2386 Grand Ave., within said District on MARCH 3, 2026 pursuant to Section 6G (4) of the General Municipal Law, SUBJECT TO A PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM. WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners established an APPARATUS AND EQUIPMENT RESERVE FUND at one of its regular meetings; and WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners thereafter by resolution approved the purchase of THIRTY (30) COMPLETE SETS OF FIREFIGHTING TURN-OUT GEAR TO REPLACE EXISTING EXPIRING TURN-OUT GEAR. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Baldwin Fire District of the Town of Hempstead withdraw the sum of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND AND 00/100 ($200,000.00) DOLLARS presently in said APPARATUS AND EQUIPMENT RESERVE FUND created by Resolution, and use the sum of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND AND 00/100 ($200,000.00) DOLLARS presently in said RESERVE FUND plus whatever cash on hand may be necessary to cover the total cost of this purchase. THE WITHIN PURCHASE IS SUBJECT TO A PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM. COMMISSIONER KEITH ECKELS moved for the adoption of the foregoing preambles and resolutions, which was seconded by COMMISSIONER JOSEPH YANANTUONO and the following vote was cast: IN FAVOR OF ADOPTION: COMMISSIONER: FRANK ESPOSITO, CHAIRMAN, COMMISSIONERS: THOMAS BROWN, KEITH ECKELS, DOUGLAS WIEDMANN AND JOSEPH YANANTUONO OPPOSED TO ADOPTION: NONE.
