ORANGE COUNTY LEGAL NOTICE COUNTY OF ORANGE EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 7 OF 2026 RESCINDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 6 OF 2026 RELATED TO A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN ORANGE COUNTY RESULTING FROM A WINTER STORM EVENT I, Steven M. Neuhaus, County Executive of the County of Orange, State of New York, do hereby declare as an EXECUTIVE ORDER the following: WHEREAS, on February 22, 2026, I issued Executive Order No. 6 of 2026, declaring a State of Emergency related to a severe winter storm event within the County, which included, inter alia, prohibiting vehicular and pedestrian traffic on designated public or private roadways within the County, excepting emergency and certain essential workers, as well as various measures related to health and safety; and WHEREAS, County officials have determined that the Emergency Declaration is no longer necessary, NOW, THEREFORE, I do hereby declare that the conditions for which the State of Emergency declared pursuant to Executive Order No. 6 of 2026, no longer necessitate the continuing of a State of Emergency and, as a result, HEREBY ORDER, Executive Order No. 6 of 2026 is rescinded in its entirety, effective 1:00 p.m. February 23, 2026. However, all County offices, including County Clerk and DMV, remain closed to the public for today, Monday, February 23rd. County employees need not report to work today, except designated essential workers that have been directed to report to work by a Department Head. County employees are expected to report to work on regular schedules beginning tomorrow, February 24th. This order is pursuant to my powers derived from the Orange County Charter (Section 3.02-q) and Administrative Code (Section 3-2-q) and Section 24 of the Executive Law of the State of New York.
