Legal Notice # 21927052 PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE VOTERS OF UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 6, TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN, SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK, ON BEHALF OF THE PORT JEFFERSON FREE LIBRARY: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a special meeting of qualified voters of Union Free School District No. 6, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, will be held in the Port Jefferson Free Library located at 100 Thompson Street, Port Jefferson, New York, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time for the purpose of voting by paper ballot upon the following items: To adopt the annual Port Jefferson Free Library budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027 and that the Board of Education of School District No. 6 be authorized and directed to raise by taxation the necessary moneys on the taxable property of the district. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that for the purpose of voting at such meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 the polls will be opened between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. prevailing time, and the voting will be held in the Port Jefferson Free Library Building.
