PUBLIC NOTICE PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to Article 2 of the New York Eminent Domain Procedure Law (the “EDPL”), including EDPL §§ 201 and 202, the Town Board of the Town of Rye, New York (the “Town Board”) will hold a public hearing to inform the public and to review the public use, benefit or purpose of the Town’s proposed acquisition of certain real property interests in connection with the South Barry Avenue Bridge over Otter Creek project, as well as the proposed location of the project and the general effect of the project on the environment and residents. Date: Thursday, March 19, 2026 Time: 6:00 p.m. Place: Crawford Mansion Community Center, 122 North Ridge Street, Rye Brook, New York 10573 Project and Public Use/Purpose/Benefit: The project involves replacement of the South Barry Avenue Bridge over Otter Creek to improve public safety, maintain transportation connectivity, and ensure structural integrity, which constitutes a public use, benefit or purpose under the EDPL. Post-Hearing Process (Advisory): Following the close of the hearing record, the Town Board will consider the testimony and materials received and will issue written Determination and Findings pursuant to EDPL § 204. Those Determination and Findings will address, among other things, the public use, benefit or purpose to be served by the project, the approximate location, the general effect on the environment and residents, and other relevant factors, and will be published/served in accordance with EDPL Article 2.
