COLUMBIA COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICE Columbia County will hold a public hearing on March 11, 2026 at 7pm at 401 State St., Hudson, NY 12534 for the purpose of hearing public comments on the progress and effectiveness of the $600,000 Columbia Forward Microenterprise Development Program, CDBG project number 267ME536-23. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Homes and Community Renewal, Office of Community Renewal, and was made available to eligible local governments for the 2024-26 program years for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low/moderate income persons. The hearing will allow for citizen participation on the progress and effectiveness of the grant program. Columbia County partnered with Columbia Economic Development Corporation, as a sub-recipient, to develop and implement the Columbia Forward Microenterprise Development Grant Program to provide business training and grants to eligible for-profit businesses that have 5 or fewer employees. Assistance under the CDBG Program must meet a national objective and a minimum of fifty-one percent (51%) of the jobs that are created must be made available to persons from low and moderate-income households. All interested residents including minority, women, disabled and disadvantaged persons are strongly encouraged to attend this public hearing.
