PUBLIC NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE OF SCHOOL CLOSURES Saranac Lake Central School District NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Bloomingdale Elementary School, with an address of 93 West Main Street, Bloomingdale, NY 12913 (BEDS Code 161401060004 ) and Saranac Lake Middle School, with an address of 141 Petrova Avenue, Saranac Lake, NY 12983 (BEDS Code 161401060003) located in the Saranac Lake Central School District are proposed to be closed, effective June 30, 2026. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the closing of Bloomingdale Elementary and Saranac Lake Middle School is for educational and fiscal reasons as more fully set forth in the Educational Impact Statement, which is available at the District office and on the District website (www.slcs.org). NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the proposed closure of Saranac Lake Middle School will necessitate the renaming of Saranac Lake High School, with an address of 79 Canaras Avenue, Saranac Lake, NY 12983, to Saranac Lake Junior/Senior High School.
