NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TOWN OF NEWFANE TOWN BOARD PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Newfane will hold a public hearing on February 25, 2026, at 6:45 p.m., at the Town Hall, 2737 Main Street, Newfane, New York, to hear and consider a proposed local law entitled: “2026 Temporary Moratorium Law on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Facilities.” The proposed local law would enact a temporary moratorium on the acceptance, processing, consideration, or approval of any application, permit, site plan, special exception use permit, variance, building permit, or other approval relating to the construction, installation, or expansion of any Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility within the Town of Newfane, in order to allow the Town Board additional time to evaluate land use, public safety, emergency response, and regulatory considerations associated with such facilities.
