NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION Kiryas Joel Fire District Town of Palm Tree Orange County, New York NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners, a special election of the qualified voters of the Kiryas Joel Fire District in Palm Tree, New York, County of Orange will be held at the Fire District Office located at 1 Chevron Road, Palm Tree, New York on the 24th day of March, 2026, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to vote on whether to approve the following resolutions adopted by such Board of Fire Commissioners: RESOLUTION NO. 1 RESOLUTION FOR FINANCING OF AN ENGINE RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE KIRYAS JOEL FIRE DISTRICT, IN THE TOWN OF PALM TREE, ORANGE COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”), AUTHORIZING THE FINANCING OF AN ENGINE AND RELATED EQUIPMENT, THE MAXIMUM COST OF WHICH IS ANTICIPATED TO BE $1,200,000; APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT THEREFORE; AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCING BY ISSUANCE OF A SERIAL BOND OR STATUTORY INSTALLMENT BOND, UP TO TWENTY (20) YEARS FOR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $1,200,000 PRINCIPAL, AND TO ISSUE BOND ANTICIPATION NOTES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ABOVE, FOR UP TO FIVE (5) CONSECUTIVE YEARS. All persons registered to vote in the district and residing in the fire district for at least thirty (30) days prior to the day of the vote may vote in such special election. Pursuant to Local Finance Law Section 80, the validity of such bonds or notes or any bond anticipation notes issued in anticipation of the sale of such bonds may be contested only if such obligations are authorized for an object or purpose for which the fire district is not authorized to expend money; or if the provisions of law which should be complied with as of this date are not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity, is commenced within twenty days after the date of such publication; or such obligations are authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution.
