VAILS GATE FIRE DISTRICT LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING VAILS GATE FIRE DISTRICT FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Vails Gate Fire District, County of Orange, State of New York, at the firehouse located at 872 Blooming Grove Turnpike (Route 94), Vails Gate, New York, on the 2nd day of March, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., to discuss a Fire Protection Contract with the Coldenham Fire District, and Coldenham Fire Company, for fire and emergency protection to the area known as Coldenham Fire Company Protection Area on a map prepared by McGoey, Hauser and Edsall dated July 1988 entitled “Proposed Fire Protection Area” dated July 1988 upon the following general terms: (a) The respective fire department shall maintain suitable apparatus and equipment for the purpose of furnishing adequate fire protection and shall answer and attend all calls in its area. (b) For such services on a yearly basis, the Coldenham Fire District will be paid the sum of $5,000.00. (c) The fire district serving each protection area shall be responsible for any loss or damage to fire apparatus, fire equipment or personnel sustained within the fire protection area. (d) The contract shall be effective for a period of five (5) years commencing January 1, 2026 and terminating on December 31, 2030, unless any contracting party serves notice to non-renew on or before August 1 st of the year prior to any year when the contract would otherwise be in effect.
