WASHINGTON COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICE Advisory Committees for Superintendent Search The Whitehall Central School District Board of Education is currently in the process of soliciting candidates for the position of Superintendent of Schools. I anticipate inviting finalists to Whitehall in mid-March for extensive interviews with two advisory committees composed of multiple stakeholders. Each Advisory Committee will have the following composition: two administrators, three members of the teachers' association, two members of the CSEA, two members of the PTA, two community members, and two students for a total of 24 individuals; 12 per each Advisory Committee. In order to properly represent the entire community, the Board is attempting to recruit community members who do not currently have a child in the school district. Community members with children are encouraged to participate as a parent representative. If you are interested in participating, please contact Danyelle Palmer by Friday, February 27, 2026 at dpalmer@railroaders.net or by phone at (518) 499-1772, x 2020. Prospective committee members must reside in the Whitehall Central School District. In the event that there are more than four community members who volunteer to serve on the Advisory Committees, participants will be chosen by lottery. Please review both the charge to the Advisory Committees and the meeting schedule to be sure that your nominees will be able to fulfill the obligation. The charge to each Advisory Committee is to: appoint co-chairs; interview all finalists; assess the strengths and weaknesses of each of the candidates and report back to the Board verbally and in writing. The Advisory Committees are scheduled to meet on the following dates: Monday, March 16, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Jr/Sr High School LG! to review interview protocol and develop interview questions Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to approximately 2:30 PM to interview finalists The evening of Thursday, March 19, 2026 with the Board of Education to report the committees' findings to the Board Please be advised that attendance at all sessions is mandatory to ensure a consistent and fair interview for the selected candidates.
