NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there has been adopted by the Legislature of the County of Chautauqua, New York on February 25, 2026, the following proposed local law bearing Introductory No. 2-26 which provides as follows:




Title of Proposed Local Law:




A LOCAL LAW PROVIDING FOR A MANAGEMENT SALARY PLAN FOR

COUNTY OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES




Summary of Proposed Local Law:




This Local Law authorizes the payment of compensation needed to recruit and retain qualified officers and employees for the County of Chautauqua, and supersedes Local Law 7-1990, as amended, relating to the Management Salary Plan for certain County officers and employees. Appointing authorities retain the discretion to set salaries within specific ranges established under the Local Law, based on actual performance and not on the length of employment. This local law shall become effective upon filing with the Secretary of State.




A copy of the entire text of the Local Law will be made available to any requesting party for review at the office of the Clerk of the County Legislature, Gerace Office Building, Mayville, New York 14757, or an individual copy shall be provided at no charge upon request.




NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the County Executive will conduct a public hearing on the aforesaid proposed Local Law in Room 331, Gerace Office Building, Mayville, New York on March 13, 2026 at 9:00 AM, at which time all persons will be heard.
