TOWN OF SHAWANGUNK PUBLIC NOTICE Public Hearing Notice Town of Shawangunk, NY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN – Pursuant to Section 267 of the Town Law, as amended, and the zoning law of the town a Public Hearing will be held by the Town of Shawangunk Zoning Boad of Appeals on April 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall, 14 Central Avenue, Wallkill, NY, County of Ulster for the purpose of considering the following application and for the conducting of any other business that may come before the board: Public Hearing: Application of Walter and Stephanie Nop, 25 Knoth Road, Wallkill, NY 12589 Zone District = R-Ag-2 the Aquafer Overlay District SBL#106.2-2-40 seeks a variance to construct a detached garage. The proposed structure will be located on the east side of the property adjacent to Garrison Woods Lane. The main structure will be 27.5 feet wide by 46 feet deep with a lean to attached to the rear. The applicant seeks an area variance to increase the impervious surface maximum coverage of 15% to approximately 16.2%. The applications and plans will be available at the Zoning Board Office at the Town Office Building during working hours Monday – Friday 9:00 – 4:00pm ten days prior to the Public Hearing. Any interested person may file with the Zoning Board a written statement in lieu of or in addition to any remarks to be presented at the hearing. Such statements shall be signed and presented to the Zoning Board Secretary prior to or at the hearing at the Town Office Building, 14 Central Avenue, Wallkill, New York or email zoning@shawangunk.org. All parties and citizens in interest will be given an opportunity to be heard in respect of the proposed applications but the Zoning Board reserves the right to limit time for presentation to a maximum of five minutes.
