NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town Board of the Town of Lewis, New York, will conduct a public hearing at the Town of Lewis Municipal Building, 1039 St Rt 26, West Leyden, New York, on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. to consider enactment of a Local Law imposing a twelve (12) month moratorium on the acceptance or approval of applications for permits authorizing the construction or emplacement of certain solar energy systems, battery energy storage systems, and wind power generating facilities as non-accessory uses in all zoning districts. During this twelve (12) month moratorium, the Town of Lewis will review its zoning law to evaluate existing regulations, assess potential land use, environmental, safety and community impacts and develop updated zoning standards that protect the Town's rural character, natural resources, and the health, safety and welfare of its residents.
