ADIRONDACK CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF DISTRICT ANNUAL BUDGET HEARING AND VOTE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to the provisions of Section 2004 of the New York State Education Law, that the District Annual Budget Hearing on the 2025-2026 proposed budget of the inhabitants of the Adirondack Central School District at Boonville qualified to vote at school meetings in said District will be held in the library of the Adirondack High School, Boonville, New York, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. for the transaction of such business as is authorized by the Education Law. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the voting for candidates for the office of members of the Board of Education and Annual Budget Proposition shall take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, between the hours of 12:00 noon and 8:00 o'clock in the evening, at the Adirondack High School, Boonville, New York. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that petitions containing a minimum of 25 signatures nominating candidates for the position of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the clerk of the school district not later than April 20, 2026, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at least thirty days preceding the Annual Budget Proposition. The vacancies to be filled are as follows: > For the position of member of the Board of Education for a period of three (3) years, there are two (2) seats that will be awarded to the two individuals with the largest and 2nd largest number of votes respectively. These terms will commence at the July Reorganizational Meeting. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that qualified voters may obtain applications for absentee ballots from the office of the clerk of the school district. Completed applications for absentee ballots must be received by the clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. prevailing time on May 5, 2026, if the absentee ballot is to be mailed to the voter. Completed applications received after 4:00 p.m. on May 5, 2026, will require the voter to personally appear at the office of the clerk of the school district to receive an absentee ballot. Deadline for Submission of Absentee “Ballot”: No absentee voter's ballot will be counted unless it is received in the office of the clerk of the school district (or designee of the school board in districts without personal registration) by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the election (§§2018-a(8), 2018-b(9)). TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that qualified voters may obtain applications for early mail ballots from the office of the clerk of the school district. Completed applications must be received by the clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. prevailing time on May 5, 2026, if the early mail ballot is to be mailed to the voter. After May 5, 2026, voter must personally appear at the office of the clerk of the school district to receive an early mail ballot. A listing of all persons to whom an absentee ballot or early mail ballot is issued will be available for inspection by any qualified voter in the office of the clerk of the school district between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. through May 18, 2026 except Saturdays, Sundays or holidays and such listing will also be available at the polling place. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that qualified military voters of the school district may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the clerk of the district at 315-942-9200 ext. 1802 or mfreeman@adirondackcsd.org. For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 22, 2026. In a request for military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail.
