NOTICE PUBLIC HEARING BUDGET VOTE AND ELECTION NORTH WARREN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing of qualified voters of the North Warren Central School District, Chestertown, Warren County, New York, will be held in the school’s Library at 6110 State Route 8, Chestertown, NY on May 11, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., prevailing time. AND NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that a vote will be taken of all those qualified voters of the District in the school gymnasium, located at 6110 State Route, Chestertown, NY at the annual meeting and election on Tuesday May 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 8:00 p.m., prevailing time, for the purpose of voting upon the following matters. 1. Annual Budget 3. Annual Election of the Board of Education AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that beginning 7 days immediately preceding the public budget hearing, any resident may request to review a copy of the proposed budget in the Office of the District Clerk. Additionally, a statement of the estimated expenses for the ensuing year may be obtaining by any resident of the district during the 14 days immediately preceding the annual meeting, except Saturday, Sunday, or holidays, at the North Warren Central School during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that applications for absentee and early mail ballots will be obtainable during school business hours at the office of the District Clerk beginning April 20, 2026. In accordance with Education Law §§ 2018-b and 2018-f, completed absentee and early mail ballot applications may not be received by the District Clerk earlier than thirty (30) days prior to the election, and must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee and early mail ballots must be received by the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m., prevailing time, on Tuesday May 19, 2026. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots shall have been issued will be available in the Office of the Clerk on each of the five days prior to the day of elections, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays, and that such list will also be posted at the polling place on the day of the Annual Election and Budget Vote. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that military voters who are qualified voters of the School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk at 518-494- 3015 Ext. 5015 or jmcavey@northwarrencsd.org . For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the District Clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 pm on April 23, 2026. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the District no later than the 30th day preceding the election at which the candidates so nominated are to be elected. Each petition must be directed to the Clerk of the School District, must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the School District, and must state the name and residence of the candidate.
