NOTICE OF ANNUAL BUDGET VOTE AND ELECTION OF THE EAST HAMPTON UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT TOWN OF EAST HAMPTON, SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK BUDGET VOTE AND ELECTION The Budget Vote and Election (Annual Meeting) will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., at the East Hampton Union Free School District, 4 Long Lane, East Hampton, NY, at which time the polls will be open to vote, by paper ballot, upon the following items: 1. To adopt the annual budget of the School District for the fiscal year 2026-2027 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the School District. 2. To vote upon the following propositions: RESOLVED: BOND PROPOSITION #1 (a) That the Board of Education of the East Hampton Union Free School District, in the County of Suffolk, New York (the "District"), is hereby authorized to construct an addition, alterations and improvements to District buildings and sites, substantially as described in a report prepared for the District by Michael J. Guido, Architect P.C., which is on file and available for public inspection at the office of the District Clerk, such project consisting of (as and where required): auditorium renovations; security system upgrades; construction of an addition to provide for multipurpose classroom and other space; reconfiguration and/or reconstruction of interior space; athletic and recreation enhancements, including installation of new turf fields, bleachers, stadium lights and scoreboards; acquisition and installation of a concession trailer; court reconstruction; track resurfacing and construction of a jogging path and comfort station; replacement of roofs, windows and floors; HVAC, mechanical and sound system upgrades, and building envelope, masonry and other improvements; all of the foregoing to include the original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus and ancillary or related site, demolition and other work required in connection therewith; and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated total cost of $63,964,974; provided that the costs of the individual components of the project may be reallocated among such components if the Board of Education shall determine that such reallocation is in the best interests of the School District; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in the aggregate amount of not to exceed $63,964,974 to finance said cost, such tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by said Board of Education; and (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $63,964,974 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable. BOND PROPOSITION #2 RESOLVED: (a) THAT IN THE EVENT BOND PROPOSITION #1 IS APPROVED, the Board of Education of the East Hampton Union Free School District, in the County of Suffolk, New York (the "District"), is hereby further authorized to construct an indoor pool building with a community pool, lockers, bleachers, classroom and other space on the site of East Hampton High School, substantially in accordance with a report prepared by Michael J. Guido, Architect P.C., which is on file and available for public inspection at the office of the District Clerk; the foregoing to include the original equipment, machinery, furnishings, apparatus, and all ancillary and related site and other work required in connection therewith; and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated total cost of $45,680,000; provided that the costs of the individual components of the project may be reallocated among such components if the Board of Education shall determine that such reallocation is in the best interests of the School District; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in the aggregate amount of not to exceed $45,680,000 to finance such cost, such tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $45,680,000 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable; and (d) that if this Bond Proposition # 2 is approved, it shall become effective only in the event that Bond Proposition #1 is also approved. RESOLVED: BOND PROPOSITION #3 (a) THAT IN THE EVENT BOND PROPOSITIONS #1 and #2 ARE APPROVED, the Board of Education of the East Hampton Union Free School District, in the County of Suffolk, New York (the "District"), is hereby further authorized to construct an indoor athletic facility on the site of East Hampton High School to provide auxiliary gym, indoor turf field, court and other space, substantially in accordance with a report prepared by Michael J. Guido, Architect P.C., which is on file and available for public inspection at the office of the District Clerk; the foregoing to include the original equipment, machinery, furnishings, apparatus, and all ancillary and related site and other work required in connection therewith; and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated total cost of $18,535,000; provided that the costs of the individual components of the project may be reallocated among such components if the Board of Education shall determine that such reallocation is in the best interests of the School District; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in the aggregate amount of not to exceed $18,535,000 to finance such cost, such tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $18,535,000 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable; and (d) that if this Bond Proposition # 3 is approved, it shall become effective only in the event that Bond Propositions #1 and #2 are also approved. Architect P.C., and to expend therefor, an amount not to exceed $18,535,000; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in the aggregate amount of not to exceed $18,535,000 to finance such cost, such tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $18,535,000 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable; and (d) that if this Bond Proposition # 3 is approved, it shall become effective only in the event that Bond Propositions #1 and #2 are also approved. 3. To elect two (2) members of the Board of Education for two (2) terms of three (3) years commencing July 1, 2026 and expiring on June 30, 2029. 4. To transact such other business as may properly come before the voters pursuant to the Education Law of the State of New York.
