GENESEE COUNTY ORLEANS COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICE LEE-WHEDON MEMORIAL LIBRARY 620 West Ave. Medina, N.Y. 14103 Notice is hereby given to the inhabitants of the Central School District No. 1 of the Towns of Ridgeway, Shelby, Barre, and Albion, Orleans County; Hartland, Niagara County; and Alabama, Genesee County, New York, of the Annual Meeting of the Lee-Whedon Memorial Library to be held at the Lee-Whedon Memorial Library in the said District on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. eastern daylight savings time, for transaction of such business as is authorized by the Education Law. And notice is also given that voting upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet necessary expenditures and the levy of the tax necessary to meet these expenditures, and that voting upon the following proposition shall take place at the Lee-Whedon Memorial Library in said District on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 , between the hours of 12:00 noon, eastern daylight savings time, and 8:00 p.m. eastern daylight savings time, and as much longer as may be necessary for the voters then present to cast their ballots: PROPOSITION NO. 1 Shall the Board of Education of Medina Central School District of the Towns of Ridgeway, Shelby, Barre, and Albion, Orleans County, Hartland, Niagara County, and Alabama, Genesee County, New York, appropriate and pay for the support and maintenance of Lee-Whedon Memorial Library with monies set forth in the Proposed Budget, submitted at the Annual Meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026 , to be raised by tax upon the taxable property of said School District, pursuant to Section 259 of the Education Law? And notice is also given that a copy of the statement of the amount of monies which will be required for the ensuing year for library purposes may be obtained by any taxpayer in the District during the fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the said Annual Meeting, except Sunday, or holidays, at the library building during normal library hours. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk, 1 Mustang Drive, Medina, New York. If the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, the completed application must be received by the Clerk of the District at least seven days before the day of the vote. If the ballot is to be issued personally to the voter, the completed application must be received by the District Clerk at least one day before the day of the vote. No absentee ballot shall be canvassed, unless it shall have been received in the office of the Library Director no later that 4:00 p.m on the day of the election. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots shall have been issued will be available for public inspection in the office of the District Clerk during regular office hours until the day of the vote.
