NOTICE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET VOTE,

CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSITIONS,

BOARD OF EDUCATION MEMBER ELECTION, AND

LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTION




NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Education of the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District that the Annual Election/Budget Vote of the qualified voters of said school district will be held at the C-R High School located at 1353 State Route 7 in Richmondville, New York, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., local time.




NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that there will be a Public Hearing regarding the proposed 2026-2027 Budget and propositions held in the William H. Golding School Library located at 155 Washington Avenue, Cobleskill, New York on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., local time. Information regarding the public hearing and budget vote can be accessed at the district website crcsd.org.




NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of budgetary appropriations required to fund the 2026-2027 school year may be obtained on the district website (crcsd.org) and at each of the following school offices, beginning May 4, 2026 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on each day other than a Saturday, Sunday or holiday:

NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the voting on the following propositions shall take place at the Annual Election/Budget Vote on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.




PROPOSITION #1 - SCHOOL OPERATING BUDGET FOR 2026-2027




SHALL the Board of Education of the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District be authorized to expend the sum of (amount to be determined by the Board of Education) as the school district budget for the 2026-2027 school year during the period of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 and to levy the necessary tax therefore, less revenues and state aid?




PROPOSITION #2 – COMMUNITY LIBRARY TAX




SHALL an annual appropriation be increased to (amount to be determined by the Library Board of Trustees) separate and apart from the annual school district budget, be approved to support and maintain the Community Library, which said sum shall be raised annually by a tax upon the taxable property of said school district and said appropriation shall be the annual appropriation therefore until changed by further vote of the electors of the school district, and such tax shall be levied and collected yearly as are other general taxes?




NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the election of three (3) candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education, each for the term of three (3) years, to fill the terms of Steven Philbrick, Susan Strasser, and Bruce Tryon, which expire June 30, 2026 will take place at the Annual Election/Budget Vote on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 All nominations for Board of Education seats are considered “at large” rather than for a specific seat.

NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the election of members of the Board of Trustees of the Community Library will take place at the Annual Election/Budget Vote on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 including: three (3) full or partial five (5) year candidate terms.




NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that petition forms for school board seats are available by contacting the District Clerk, William H. Golding School, 155 Washington Avenue, Cobleskill, New York or by telephoning (518) 234-4032, extension 2000, and that each petition shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the school district and shall state the residence of each signer.




NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education and member of the Board of Trustees of the Community Library must be filed with the Clerk of the Board of Education no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 20, 2026.




NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the qualified voters of the District shall be entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting. A qualified voter is one who is (1) a citizen of the United States of America, (2) eighteen years of age or older, and (3) resident within the District for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding the vote. The District may require all persons offering to vote at the Annual meeting to provide one form of proof of residency pursuant to Education Law §2018-c. Such form may include a driver’s license, a non-driver identification card, a utility bill, or a voter registration card. Upon offer of proof of residency, the District may also require all persons offering to vote to provide their signature, printed name and address.




NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that Military voters who are qualified voters of the School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk. For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the District Clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2026. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission, or electronic mail. The School District will transmit military ballots to military voters on April 24, 2026. Completed military ballots must be received by the School District by 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2026, in order to be counted, and facsimile transmission is not acceptable.




NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that applications for absentee and early mail ballots may be obtained by contacting the District Clerk, CRCSD District Office, 155 Washington Ave., Cobleskill, NY 12043 or by telephoning (518) 234-4032, extension 2000, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., prevailing time, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days before the Annual Meeting and Vote, if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or on the day before the Annual Meeting and Vote, if the ballot is to be issued to the voter in person. The list of all persons to whom absentee ballots and early mail ballots shall have been issued will be available for inspection in the office of the District Clerk, on each of the five (5) business days preceding the vote on May 19, 2026 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., prevailing time, until the day set for voting, except for Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. No absentee ballot or early mail ballot will be canvassed unless it is received prior to 5:00 p.m., prevailing time, on May 19, 2026, in the office of the District Clerk located at 155 Washington Avenue, Cobleskill, NY 12043
