Budget Vote NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING, BUDGET VOTE AND ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing for all those qualified to vote in the South Glens Falls Central School District will be held in the LGI Room of the High School, 42 Merritt Road, South Glens Falls, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. for the presentation of the budget document and introduction of candidates for the Board of Education. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that said vote and election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the following locations: Election District #1, Tanglewood Elementary School, 60 Tanglewood Drive, South Glens Falls, New York (village of South Glens Falls and town of Moreau residents), and Election District #2, Ballard Elementary School, 300 Ballard Road, Wilton, New York (towns of Northumberland and Wilton residents) at which time the polls will be opened to vote by voting machine upon the following items: To adopt the annual budget of the South Glens Falls Central School District for the fiscal year 2026-2027 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the District. To adopt the following propositions: SHALL the Board of Education of the South Glens Falls Central School District, Saratoga County, New York, be hereby authorized to expend in an amount to be determined and to levy the necessary tax. To transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting pursuant to the Education Law of the State of New York. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required to fund the School District's budget for 2026-2027, exclusive of public monies, may be obtained by any resident of the District during business hours beginning Wednesday, April 22, 2026, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays, at the District Office, 42 Merritt Road, Suite 1, South Glens Falls, New York. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education shall be filed with the District Clerk by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026. Vacancies on the Board of Education are not considered separate, specific offices; candidates run at large. Nominating Petitions filed with the Clerk of the District; must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the District; and must state the name and residence of each signer. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that voter registration will take place on Monday, April 27, 2026, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the District Office located at 42 Merritt Road, Suite 1, South Glens Falls, New York. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that applications for absentee and early mail voter ballots will be obtainable from the District Clerk. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee and early mail voter ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m., prevailing time, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. A list of all persons to whom absentee and early mail voter ballots have been issued will be available in the District Office of the School District from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the election, up through May 19, 2026. Any qualified voter may challenge the acceptance of the ballot of any person on such list, by filing a written challenge and reasons therefore to the District Clerk prior to the day of the election. The written challenge must then be transmitted by the clerk or designee to the election inspectors on the day of the election. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that military voters who are not currently registered may apply to register as a qualified voter of the school district. Military voters who are qualified voters of the school district may submit an application for a military ballot. Military voters may designate a preference to receive a military voter registration, military ballot application or military ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail in their request for such registration, ballot application or ballot. Military voter registration application forms must be received by the District Clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 24, 2026 .
