Traffic Regulation NO. 5 for the City of Corning for 2026 Adopted by the City Manager on April 1, 2026 Pursuant to the authority vested in the City Manager by the ordinance for the administration and enforcement of traffic rules and regulations of the City of Corning, New York adopted by the City Council on December 9th, 1996, the City Manager of the City of Corning does ordain and enact as follows: Section 1. That one parking space on each side of East Second Street, in the area of 172 East Second Street, be and the same hereby is reserved for physically handicapped persons and limited to and available only for parking of motor vehicles belonging to or operated or occupied by holders of a handicapped parking permit or for motor vehicles displaying disabled person plates. Section 2. Suitable signs shall be erected in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, local ordinances and the rules and regulations of the Department of Transportation indicating the restrictions hereinabove. Section 3. Prior regulations, ordinances or parts of prior regulations or ordinances of this City in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this regulation are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any regulation or ordinance or part of any regulation or ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this regulation. Section 4. A violation of this regulation shall be deemed a traffic infraction and punishable in accordance with the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York. Section 5. This regulation shall take effect immediately upon their approval, publication thereof in the Corning Leader, filing of a certified copy thereof in the City Clerk's Office and the posting of the appropriate signs.
