CORTLAND COUNTY LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF BOND RESOLUTION The resolution, a summary of which is published herewith, was adopted on January 11, 2022. The validity of the obligations authorized by such resolution may be hereafter contested only if such obligations were authorized for an object or purpose for which the Homer Central School District is not authorized to expend money or if the provisions of law which should have been complied with as of the date of publication of this notice were not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity is commenced within twenty days after the date of publication of this notice, or such obligations were authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution. SUMMARY OF BOND RESOLUTION A Resolution adopted by the Board of Education of the Homer Central School District, Cortland, Cayuga, Onondaga and Tompkins Counties, New York (the “District”) on January 11, 2022 authorizes the construction of improvements to and the reconstruction of the District’s High School (including replacement of sports press box), Intermediate School, Junior High School, Elementary School and Bus Garage, including interior and exterior improvements, safety and security improvements, interior and exterior lighting improvements, mechanical equipment replacement, field and playground improvements, sitework and parking and traffic circulation improvements, original furnishings, fixtures and equipment, architectural fees, and all other necessary costs incidental to such work (together, the “Project”) and the expenditure of a total sum not to exceed $24,002,253, which is estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, and the payment of the costs of the Project by using up to $131,950 from the School District’s Capital Reserve approved by the District’s voters on May 20, 2014 and, for the balance of the costs, by the levy of a tax which was voted for the Project in the amount of $23,870,303, subject to the applicable amount of State Building Aid available, which tax shall be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by the Board of Education and in anticipation of the collection of such tax, bonds and notes of the District are authorized to be issued at one time, or from time to time, in the principal amount not to exceed $23,870,303, and a tax was voted to pay the interest on said obligations when due. Under the Local Finance Law, the period of probable usefulness of the Project is thirty (30) years. Such resolution shall be kept available for public inspection in the District Offices during regular business hours for twenty days following this publication.
