Local Law No. 2 of 2026 adopted for hotel/motel occupancy tax.

PUBLIC NOTICE ESSEX COUNTY ADOPTION OF LOCAL LAW NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on April 6, 2026, the Essex County Board of Supervisors duly adopted Local Law No. 2 of 2026, continuing the imposition of a hotel/motel occupancy tax in Essex County as authorized by New York Tax Law §1202(s); and PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that this Local Law shall remain in full force and effect for a period of three (3) years from the date of enactment by the Board of Supervisors; except that nothing shall prohibit or prevent the adoption and enactment of subsequent local laws continuing or imposing the tax authorized hereby after the expiration of this or any other local law adopted and enacted pursuant to the provision of Part T of §1 of Chapter 406 of the Laws of 1999 and NYS Tax Law §1202(s); and PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that this Local Law shall take effect upon enactment and filing in the office of Secretary of the State of New York; and PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that a complete copy of Local Law No. 2 of 2026 is available for inspection in the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 7551 Court Street, Elizabethtown, New York 12932.
