HAMMOND PUBLIC NOTICE Town of Hammond Dog Census The Hammond Town Board has authorized a Dog Census to begin May 1, 2026. New York State Agriculture & Market Law requires that all dogs four months of age and older be licensed in the municipality they reside. The census will be conducted by the Hammond Dog Control Officer, Dan Moyer. Dog owners are urged to license their dogs prior to the start of the Dog Census. The statutory licensing fees are $7.50 for spayed/neutered dogs and $15.50 for unspayed/ unneutered. An additional fee of $5 will be added to any dog found to be unlicensed at the time of the Dog Census. Licenses are provided at the Town Clerk’s Office, 21 South Main Street, Hammond NY, Monday-Thursday 9:30am-3pm and a current rabies certificate is required.
