NOTICE OF ANNUAL BUDGET VOTE AND BOARD ELECTION RONDOUT VALLEY

CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Bud- get Vote and Board Election of the Rondout Val- ley Central School District will be held in the Dis- trict Office at the Rondout Valley Central School District, on Kyserike Road, Accord, New York, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. prevailing time at which time the polls will be opened to vote upon the follow- ing items:

1. To adopt the annual budget of the School Dis- trict for the fiscal year 2026-2027 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxa- tion on the taxable property of the District.

2. To elect three (3) members of the Board of Edu- cation, each for a term of three

(3) year terms commencing July 1, 2026 and expiring on June 30, 2029.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for School District purposes during the 2026-2027 school year (the Budget), exclusive of public monies, may be obtained by any resident of the District during business hours, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at each of the District's schoolhouses and at the District Offices, effective April 28, 2026, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays at the following locations: Kerhonkson Elementary School

The Budget will also be available at each free association and public library in the District and on the District website.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a Real Property Tax Exemption Report prepared in accordance with Section 495 of the Real Property Tax Law will be annexed to any tentative budget as well as the final adopted budget of which it will form a part; and shall be posted on District bulletin board(s) maintained for public notices, as well as on the District's website.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a Public Hearing on the Budget will be held on May 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (prevailing time) at the District Office locat- ed on Kyserike Road, Accord, New York, for the purpose of presenting the budget document for the school year, July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that petitions nomi- nating candidates for the Office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the District not later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026. Vacancies on the Board of Educa- tion are not considered separate, specific offices; candidates run at large.

Each petition shall be directed to the Clerk of the School District, shall be signed by at least 37 qual- ified voters of the district, shall state the name and residence address of each signer, and shall state the name and residence address of the can- didate.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that any quali- fied voter of the District may vote without prior registration. A qualified voter is one who is (1) a U.S. Citizen, (2) 18 years of age or older, and (3) a resident within the School District for at least 30 days immediately preceding the election and vote.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the School Dis- trict may require all persons offering to vote at the Annual School District Meeting to provide one form of proof of residency with physical address, including but not limited to:

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that military vot- ers who are qualified voters of the Rondout Valley Central School District may request an applica- tion for a military ballot from the District Clerk in person, by mail to PO Box 9, Accord, New York 12404, by email to dbarbiani@rondout.k12.ny.us or fax sent to 845-377-0977. In such request, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application by mail, fax or email. A military voter must return the original military ballot application by mail or in person to the office of the District Clerk at PO Box 9, Accord, New York 12404. In order for a military voter to be issued a military ballot, a valid military ballot application must be received in the office of the District Clerk no later than 5:00 P.M. on April 23, 2026. Military ballot applications received in accordance with the foregoing will be processed in the same man- ner as a non-military ballot application under Sec- tion 2018-b of the Education Law. The application for military ballot may include the military voter's preference for receipt of the military ballot by mail, fax, or email.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, a military voter's original military ballot must be returned by mail or in person to the office of the District Clerk at PO Box 9, Accord, New York 12404. Military bal- lots shall be canvassed if they are received by the District Clerk before the close of the polls on May 19, 2026 showing a cancellation mark of the Unit- ed States Postal Service or a foreign country's postal service, or showing a dated endorsement of receipt by another agency of the United States Government; or received not later than 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2026 and signed and dated by the mili- tary voter and one witness thereto, with a date which is ascertained to be not later than the day before the election.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to Sec-| tions 2018-b and 2018-f of the Education Law, ap- plications for absentee ballots and early mail bal- lots for the Annual School District Meeting may be obtained at the Office of the District Clerk, during regular office hours, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The ap- plication must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days prior to the vote if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter or the day before the vote if the ballot will be picked up personally by the voter at the District Clerk's Office. Written re- quests for absentee ballots and early mail ballots must be made at least seven (7) days and no more than thirty (30) days prior to the vote. Absentee ballots and early mail ballots must be received at the Office of the District Clerk by no later than 5:00 p.m., prevailing time, on the day of the vote, May 19, 2026. A list of all persons to whom ab- sentee ballots shall have been issued, and a list of all persons to whom early ballots shall have been issued, will be available for inspection to qualified voters of the District at the Office of the District Clerk on and after May 14, 2026 during regular of- fice hours, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., prevailing time, until the day of the Election and Vote. Any qualified voter may file written challenge of the qualifications of a voter whose name appears on such list, stating the reasons for the challenge. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that any proposi- tion or question not requiring official notice in the call of the annual vote and election may be voted upon at said vote and election, provided a petition signed by at least 93 qualified voters is filed with the Clerk of the District no later than thirty (30) days before the vote. However, the Board will not entertain any petition to place before the voters any proposition the purpose of which is not with- in the powers of the voters to determine, which is unlawful, which fails to include a specific ap-| propriation where the expenditure of monies is required by the proposition, or where other valid reason exists for excluding the proposition from

the ballot.
