NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION

SUBJECT TO MANDATORY REFERENDUM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on April 9, 2026, the Town Board of the Town of DeRuyter duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a mandatory referendum pursuant to Article 7 of the New York State Town Law. The full resolution is available at the Town Offices located at the Genevieve D. Staley Civic Center located at 735 Utica Street, in the Town of DeRuyter, for review by all interested parties during regular business hours.

A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE TERM OF OFFICE OF

THE TOWN SUPERVISOR OF THE TOWN OF DERUYTER

FROM TWO YEARS TO FOUR YEARS

“Shall a resolution adopted by the Town Board of the Town of DeRuyter, County of Madison, a resolution changing the term of office of the Town Supervisor in the Town of DeRuyter from two (2) years to four (4) years, be approved, thereby changing the term of office of the Town Supervisor in the Town of DeRuyter for persons elected to that position and taking office on and after January 1, 2027?”

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this Resolution, if approved by the voters, is to change the term of office of Town Supervisor in the Town of DeRuyter from two (2) years to four (4) years. The effect of this Resolution would be that the two (2) year term of office for the position of Town Supervisor in the Town of DeRuyter would terminate on January 1, 2027. Thereafter, for persons elected to the position of Town Supervisor in the Town of DeRuyter and taking office on and after January 1, 2027 will have a term of office of four (4) years.
