DUNDEE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT LEGAL NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL DISTRICT MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing of the qualified voters of the Dundee Central School District will be held in the public meeting room of the Dundee Central School in said district on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 5:00 pm for purposes of presenting the school budget as adopted by the Board of Education for the fiscal year July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 and for the transaction of such other business as is authorized by law. AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the Annual Meeting of the qualified voters of the Dundee Central School District will be held in the public meeting room of the Dundee Central School in said district on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 12:00 noon DST to 8:00 pm DST for the transaction of such business as is authorized by Education Law of the State of New York. AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes, exclusive of public monies, and a copy of the tax exemption report, may be obtained by any taxpayer in the district during the 14 days immediately preceding the Annual Meeting except Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, at the office of the District Clerk of said Dundee Central School during regular school hours. AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that all persons entitled and desiring to vote upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures or on the propositions involving the expenditure of money or authorizing the levy of taxes shall vote in the public meeting room of the Dundee Central School on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 between the hours of 12:00 noon DST and 8:00pm DST. Proposition #1 - School Budget 2026-2027 RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Dundee Central School District adopt a proposed budget for the school year 2026-2027 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the district. Proposition #2 – School Transportation Vehicle Purchase RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Dundee Central School District be authorized to purchase three (3) transportation vehicles, including related furnishings and equipment incidental thereto and expend therefore a total sum not to exceed $509,500 which is estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, and pay for such Vehicles by the use of funds from the 2019 Bus Purchase Reserve Fund, in an amount not to exceed $509,500, with no tax levy impact. Proposition #3 – 2026 Capital Reserve Fund RESOLVED, that the Board of Education be authorized to establish a new ten-year capital reserve fund pursuant to Section 3651 of the Education Law and fund such fund in an amount not to exceed $5,000,000, inclusive of accrued interest and other investment earnings, to be used for construction, reconstruction, renovations, improvements and additions to all District facilities, including purchase of student transportation vehicles, equipment, technology upgrades, classroom equipment and/or school infrastructure equipment, site development, athletic fields, playgrounds, storm and sanitary sewer, driveways, and parking lots, such reserve fund to be funded from (i) year-end budget surplus funds known as unassigned fund balance, as available, for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026 and each fiscal year thereafter for the term of the reserve fund, (ii) transfers of excess monies from Board of Education designated reserves, (iii) amounts from budgetary appropriations from time to time, and (iv) New York State Aid received and made available by the Board of Education from time to time, all as permitted by law. Proposition #4 - Transportation RESOLVED, that the proposition adopted by the voters of the Dundee Central School District for the 2017–2018 school year, which authorized the Board of Education to incur necessary expenditures to provide transportation to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade residing more than 0.6 miles from their school of attendance and discontinued transportation for students residing 0.6 miles or less from their school of attendance, be and hereby is repealed, and that the Board of Education of the Dundee Central School District be and hereby is authorized to incur necessary expenditures during the current school year and each school year thereafter to provide transportation to all students in kindergarten through twelfth grade residing within the boundaries of the District, including those residing 0.6 miles or less from their school of attendance, in accordance with the Education Law. Proposition #5 – Public Library RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Dundee Central School be and hereby is authorized to enter into a “Contract for Educational Services” with the Dundee Library in the amount of $190,000 and to levy the necessary tax for the above purpose. (The current annual library appropriation is guaranteed at $184,000. Approval of the proposition would ensure additional funds of $6,000 for future years.) NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the District Clerk no later than April 20, 2026 at 5:00 pm local time. There are three (3) three-year terms to be filled: 1. Term of three years – name of last incumbent – Casey Busch 2. Term of three years – name of last incumbent – Robert Neu 3. Term of three years – name of last incumbent – Jared Webster Each petition must be directed to the District Clerk, must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the school district, including their addresses, must state the name and residence of the candidate. Blank petition forms may be obtained at the office of the District Clerk of the said Dundee Central School District. Candidates for the position on the Board of Education must file expenditure statements in accordance with Article 32 of the Education Law.
