Legal Notices 2026 CDBG Applications Available and Technical Assistance Meetings Notice of 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Applications and Application Technical Assistance Meetings. The City of Dunkirk is a Grantee of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As a CDBG Grantee, the City annually funds housing and community development programs and projects for the community, which are primarily intended to benefit low- and moderate-income residents. Mayor Wdowiasz would like to welcome local non-profit organizations, community groups, and businesses to apply for funding through the CDBG Program to complete projects that benefit low- and moderate-income persons, prevent or eliminate slum and blight and meeting other community development needs. The City anticipates an allocation of approximately $444,000 in grant funds for the 2026 program year. Applications for 2026 CDBG applications will be available beginning on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at the Department of Planning and Development Office, 338 Central Ave., Suite 210, and also available at the City Hall Clerk’s Office, 342 Central Ave. Applications will be available on the City of Dunkirk’s CDBG webpage:https://www.cityofdunkirk.com/government/departments/planning_and_development/cdbg.php. CDBG Applications are due by 5:00pm on Friday, May 22nd, 2026 and should be submitted to the Planning and Development Office. No late applications will be accepted. A Technical Assistance meeting is scheduled on Thursday, May 7th at 4:00 pm in the City of Dunkirk’s Planning and Development Conference Room, Suite 210, 338 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY, to assist businesses and organizations in completing their FY2026 CDBG proposal applications. A second Technical Assistance Meeting will be held on Friday, May 8th at 9:00 am.
