Notice of Completion of Tentative Assessment Roll (Pursuant to section 506 and 526 of the Real Property Tax Law) Hearing of Complaints Notice is hereby given that the Assessor of the Town of Elmira, County of Chemung has completed the tentative assessment roll for the current year and that a copy of said roll has been left with the Assessor’s Office at 1255 W. Water Street, where it may be seen or examined by any interested person until the fourth Tuesday in May, at which time the Board of Assessment Review will meet to hear complaints in relation to assessments. The assessor will be in attendance with the tentative assessment roll on: Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 12:00 p.m–4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 12:00 p.m–4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The following dates are for appointment only (607) 734-1486: Monday, May 18, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 8:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. The Board of Assessment Review will meet on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at 1255 W. Water Street, in said town, to hear and examine all complaints in relation to assessments, on the application of any person believing himself to be aggrieved. A publication containing procedures for “What to do if you disagree with your assessment” is available at the Office of the Assessor or the County Director of Real Property.
