Legal Notices Town of Persia Board Meeting April 9, 2026 8 West Main Street, Gowanda, New York 14070 RESOLUTION #27 State of Emergency WHEREAS, the Town of Persia on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, was hit with severe storm subject to high wind and golf ball size hail resulting devastating damage to many cars, broken windows and other large scale property damage exceeding one million dollars to the Town Hall possibly, and WHEREAS, the aforementioned damage has caused untold financial hardship and insurance claims filed by the citizens of the Town of Persia, and WHEREAS, The Persia Town Supervisor shall be authorized to declare a local state of emergency under Article 2-B, Section 2A of the NYS Executive Law, and WHEREAS, said local state of emergency hereby authorizes the issuance of emergency orders, such as curfew or travel bans, to protect the public, and WHEREAS, said local state of emergency shall last 30 days or until rescinded, whichever is sooner, though it can be renewed, and WHEREAS, said declaration shall be filed with the Town Clerk, publicized to the public/media, and WHEREAS, said declaration must be filed with the NYS Department of State and State Office of Emergency Management, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes the Persia Town Supervisor to declare a local state of emergency for the Town of Persia for 30 days from the date of this resolution.
