Annual School District Meeting and Election Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meet- ing of the inhabitants of the Green Island Union Free School District of Albany County, quali- fied to vote at School Meetings in said district will be held at Heatly School, 171 Hudson Av- enue on Tuesday, May 21, 2026 solely for the purpose of voting on the 2026-2027 school budget and electing Board of Education members. The polls will be open from 2:00PM to 8:00PM (E.D.T.) No- tice is also given that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes, exclu- sive of public moneys, may be obtained by any resident at the budget hearing to be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 6:00PM at Heatly School, 171 Hudson Av- enue and during the seven (7) days imme- diately preceding the Annual Meeting, except Saturday and Sunday at Heatly School between the hours of 9:00AM and 12 Noon and 1:00PM and 3:00PM. And notice is given that petitions nominating candidates for the office of Trustee of the Board of Educa- tion must be filed with the Clerk of the District no later than 5:00PM on Monday, April 20, 2026. (3) year term commenc- ing July 1, 2026 - last in- cumbent - Alisha Hope The petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District, must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) quali- fied voters of the dis- trict and shall state the residence of the candi- date. Absentee ballots for election of a Board member and the School District Budget vote may be applied for at the office of the School District Clerk at Heatly School, 171 Hudson Av- enue, Green Island, New York. Application for the use of an absentee ballot must be made seven (7) days prior to the election if the bal- lot is to be mailed and no later than the day before the election if the ballot is to be deliv- ered personally to the voter. All absentee bal- lots must be received by the School District Clerk no later than 5:00PM on the day of the election. A list of persons to whom absentee ballots have been issued will be available in the office of the School District Clerk on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the election, except Saturday and Sunday, during normal business hours.
