NOTICE is hereby given that the annual meeting of the Lake Placid Public Library of the Lake Placid Central School District will be held on Tuesday May 12,2026 at 2471 Main Street, for the transaction of such business as is authorized by the Education Law of 1910 and acts thereof. AND, notice is hereby given that petitions nominating candidate(s) for the office of member of the Board of Trustees of the Lake Placid Public Library must be filed no later than Friday, April 10, 2026. The following vacancies are to be filled on the Library Board of Trustees: 1. PROPOSED TRUSTEE: Jenifer Briggs LENGTH OF TERM: Five (5) years expires 2030 NAME OF INCUMBENT: Jenifer Briggs 2. PROPOSED TRUSTEE: Open LENGTH OF TERM: Five (5) years expires 2030 NAME OF INCUMBENT: none Each petition shall be directed to the Clerk of the School district; shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the School District; and shall state the name and residence of the candidate; the name and residence of each signer; and shall describe the specific vacancy for which the candidate is nominated. The description shall include at least the length of the term of office and the name of the last incumbent. Petitions are available at the library, 2471 Main Street. Each petition shall be filed with the School District Clerk by 4:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026, which is no later than the 30th day preceding the Library election at which the candidate is to be elected. NOTICE is also given that a copy of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for library purposes, may be obtained by any taxpayer in the School District during the seven (7) days immediately preceding the Annual Meeting, except a Sunday or holiday, at the Lake Placid Public Library during the hours of 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM beginning on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. AND, NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN THAT VOTING FOR THE CANDIDATE(s) for the office of member of the Board of Trustees of the Library, and voting on the budget of the Lake Placid Public Library for fiscal year 2026-2027 shall be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in the Library, 2471 Main Street. The voting shall be from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM, or until such time as all qualified voters who are at the polling place have had an opportunity to vote. To be eligible to vote, an individual must be a United States citizen, a resident of the School District for at least 30 days, and be eighteen (18) years of age.
