NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING & ELECTION OF THE MAHOPAC CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT; PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING AND REGISTRATION OF VOTERS NOTICE IS GIVEN, that the Annual School District Meeting and Election of the qualified voters of the School District will be held at the MAHOPAC HIGH SCHOOL, 421 Baldwin Place Road, Mahopac, New York, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, for the purpose of voting by voting machine on the statement of estimated expenses for the ensuing school year (School District Budget), on any proposition, and for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the Board of Education. Polls for the purpose of voting will be kept open between the hours of 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that propositions in substantially the following form shall be presented to the qualified voters of the District at such Annual District Meeting and Election: PROPOSITION NO. 1 RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Mahopac Central School District be authorized to appropriate the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures of the district for the 2026/2027 school year, exclusive of public monies; such funds to be raised by tax on the taxable property of the district and to be levied and collected as provided by law. PROPOSITION NO. 2 RESOLVED: (a) That the Board of Education of the Mahopac Central School District, in the County of Putnam, New York (the “District”), is hereby authorized to purchase various school buses and related equipment for use by the District, and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated total cost of $1,635,210; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in the aggregate amount of not to exceed $1,635,210 to pay such cost, said tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; and (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the principal amount of not to exceed $1,635,210 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable. Such Proposition NO. 2 shall appear on the ballots used for voting at said Annual District Meeting and Election in substantially the following condensed form: PROPOSITION NO. 2 RESOLVED: (a) That the Board of Education of the Mahopac Central School District, in the County of Putnam, New York (the “District”), is hereby authorized to purchase various school buses and related equipment for use by the District and to expend $1,635,210 therefor; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in the aggregate amount of not to exceed $1,635,210 to pay such cost, said tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; and (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the principal amount of not to exceed $1,635,210 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable. PROPOSITION NO. 3 CAPITAL RESERVE FUND Shall the Board of Education of the Mahopac Central School District establish a capital reserve fund for the purpose of funding District-wide improvements to its buildings and sites, including such improvements identified on its five-year capital facilities plan, in the ultimate amount not to exceed $10,000,000 (plus accrued interest) over a probable term of ten (10) years; and that such sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary shall be transferred from or so much thereof as may be necessary is to be raised from current or future unappropriated and unassigned general fund balance in excess of the amount prescribed by law. PROPOSITION NO. 4 RESOLVED: (a) That the Board of Education of Mahopac Central School District, in the County of Putnam, New York (the “District”), is hereby authorized to construct alterations and improvements to various District buildings (the “Project”), substantially as set forth in a plan prepared by the District with the assistance of Tetra Tech Architects & Engineers (the “Plan”), which Plan is available for public inspection at the office of the District Clerk, including (as and where necessary), toilet room renovations; select roof replacement areas; HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) upgrades; and replacement of the gymnasium floor and gymnasium divider curtain; all of the foregoing to include the original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus and ancillary or related site and other work required in connection therewith; and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated cost of $12,498,000; provided that the costs of the components of the Project as set forth in the Plan may be reallocated among such components if the Board of Education shall determine that such reallocation is in the best interest of the District; (b) that the amount of $5,225,826 from the District’s “Capital Reserve Fund-2024”, approved by the voters of the District on May 21, 2024, plus interest earnings thereon, is hereby authorized to be expended to pay a portion of such cost, and such expenditure is hereby approved; and (c) that a tax is hereby voted in the aggregate amount of not to exceed $7,272,174 to finance the balance such cost, such tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; and that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $7,272,174 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable. PROPOSITION NO. 5 RESOLVED: (a) THAT IN THE EVENT PROPOSITION NO. 4 IS APPROVED, the Board of Education of Mahopac Central School District, in the County of Putnam, New York (the “District”), is hereby authorized to construct improvements to various District school buildings and the sites thereof (the “Project”), substantially as set forth in a plan prepared by the District with the assistance of Tetra Tech Architects & Engineers (the “Plan”), which Plan is available for public inspection at the office of the District Clerk, including (as and where necessary) auditorium upgrades to address lighting systems; audio systems, drapery and rigging, air conditioning upgrades, practice field lighting replacement, additional HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) upgrades; and playground replacements; all of the foregoing to include the original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus and ancillary or related site and other work required in connection therewith; and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated cost of $8,087,000; provided that the detailed costs of the components of the Project as set forth in the Plan may be reallocated among such components if the Board of Education shall determine that such reallocation is in the best interest of the District; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in an amount of not to exceed $8,087,000 to finance such cost, such tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $8,087,000 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable; and (d) that if this Proposition No. 5 is approved, it shall become effective only in the event that Proposition No. 4 is approved. PROPOSITION NO. 6 RESOLVED: (a) THAT IN THE EVENT PROPOSITIONS NO. 4 AND NO. 5 ARE APPROVED, the Board of Education of Mahopac Central School District, in the County of Putnam, New York (the “District”), is hereby authorized to construct athletic and recreational improvements to various District sites (“the Project”), substantially as set forth in a plan prepared by the District with the assistance of Tetra Tech Architects & Engineers (the “Plan”), which Plan is available for public inspection at the office of the District Clerk, including (as and where necessary) new synthetic turf along with added amenities, along with replacement of the existing field with synthetic turf; the construction of home and away dugouts, batting enclosures, bullpens, fencing, field lighting, backstop fencing, concrete pads for portable bleachers, permanent elevated grandstand bleachers and press box, scoreboards, pedestrian walkways; and the construction of a 500 seat home side grandstand and a 100 seat visitor side grandstand; all of the foregoing to include the original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus and ancillary or related site and other work requir
