WYOMING COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF ELECTION AND SPECIAL MEETING OF QUALIFIED VOTERS OF PERRY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT AS TAXPAYERS FOR PERRY PUBLIC LIBRARY NOTICE OF BUDGET VOTE AND ELECTION PERRY PUBLIC LIBRARY Town of PERRY, County of WYOMING, NEW YORK NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing of the qualified voters of the Perry Central School District, Wyoming County, Perry, New York, will be held in the Stowell-Wiles Gallery at the Perry Public Library at 70 North Main Street, Perry, New York on Thursday , May 21, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. prevailing time, for the presentation of the Perry Pubic Library 2027 library budget. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a special meeting of the qualified voters of the Perry Central School District as taxpayers for Perry Public Library, of the Town of Perry, Wyoming County, New York, will be held at the Perry Public Library, in said district on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. (noon) and 8:00 p.m., prevailing time, at which time the polls will be opened to vote by ballot upon the following items: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a ballot will be presented to the residents of the Perry Central School District at which time the polls will be opened for voting upon the following items: (1) To assess and levy upon the taxable property of the District the sum of Three Hundred Twenty Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($329,130) annually toward the Perry Public Library budget. (2) For the election of two (2) members of the Library Board of Trustees for three (3) year terms commencing July 1, 2026 , and expiring on June 30, 2029 , and to succeed Sandra Lawrence and Barbara Glenn, whose terms expire on June 30. 2026 . AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Library Board of Trustees shall be filed with the Library Director of the Perry Public Library at her office in the Perry Public Library, not later than May 4, 2026 , at 8:00 PM. Each petition shall be directed to the Library Director of the Perry Public Library and shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) voters of the Perry Central School District, must state the name and residence of the candidate and shall describe (where applicable) the specific vacancy for which the candidate is nominated. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that applications for early mail and absentee ballots for the purpose of voting may be obtained at the Office of the Perry Central School District Clerk or by calling the District Clerk at (585) 237-0270 ext. 1000 during business hours. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter at the Office of the Perry Central School District Clerk. Early mail and absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM, on June 2, 2026 . A list of persons to whom early mail and absentee ballots have been issued will be available for inspection to qualified voters of the Perry Central School District in the Office of the Perry Central School District Clerk on or after May 26, 2026 (five days prior, except Sunday.) between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, on weekdays prior to the day set for the special meeting and election, by prearranged appointment only. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Military voters as defined by Commissioner’s regulation Part 122 who are qualified voters of the District, may apply for a military ballot during business hours at the office of the District Clerk by mail at Perry Central School District, 33 Watkins Ave., Perry, NY 14530, phone (585) 237-0270 ext. 1000, or email lkowasz@perrycsd.org. A military voter may designate a preference to receive a military ballot application/military ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail in their request for such application/ballot. Completed applications for military ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 8, 2026 . Ballots for military voters shall be mailed, or otherwise distributed, no later than 25 days prior to the election. Completed military ballots must be received by the District Clerk not later than 5:00 PM, on June 2, 2026 . AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the qualified voters of the School District shall be entitled to vote at said special meeting. A qualified voter is one who is (1) a citizen of the United States of America, (2) eighteen years of age or older, and (3) a resident within the School District for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding the special meeting and election. The School District may require all persons offering to vote at the special meeting and election to provide one form of proof of residency pursuant to Education Law Section 2018-c. Such form may include a driver’s license, a non-driver identification card, a utility bill, or a voter registration card. Upon offer of proof of residency, the School District may also require all persons offering to vote to provide their signature, printed name and address.
