LEGAL NOTICE Notice of Public Hearing, School Budget Vote and Election of Board Mem- bers Lansingburgh Central School District County of Rensselaer, New York NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing of the qualified voters of the Lansingburgh Central School District, Rensselaer County, New York, will be held at the Turnpike Elementary School gymnasium, located at 55 New Turnpike Road, Troy, New York, on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. prevail- ing time, for the presentation of the budget document. Beginning on May 5, 2026, copies of the budget document will be available, upon request, at the District Office located at 55 New Turnpike Road, Troy, New York, weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that said vote and election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., prevailing time, at which time the polls will be opened to vote by vot- ing machine upon the following items: 1. To adopt the annual budget of the School District for the fiscal year 2026- 2027; and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the District. 2. SHALL the Board of Education of the Lansingburgh Central School District be authorized to: (1) reconstruct, renovate and improve various School Dis- trict buildings, facilities and sites, acquire original furnishings, equipment, machinery or apparatus required for the purpose for which such buildings, facilities and sites are to be used and pay incidental costs related thereto, at a maximum aggregate cost of $4,050,000; (2) expend such sum for such purpose; (3) levy of the necessary tax, to be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by the Board of Education, taking into account state aid; and (4) in anticipa- tion of the collection of such tax, issue bonds and notes of the School Dis- trict at one time or from time to time in the principal amount not to exceed $4,050,000, and levy a tax to pay the interest on said obligations when due? 3. To elect three (3) members of the Board of Education. The two candidates with the highest vote count will each be elected to a five (5) year term com-| mencing on July 1, 2026 and expiring on June 30, 2031. The candidate with the third high- est vote count will be elected to fill an unexpired term of one (1) year commenc- ing May 20, 2026 and expiring on June 30, 2027. Polling locations are as follows: ELECTION DISTRICT No. 1: Inhabitants of this district will vote at the Lan- singburgh High School, Gymnasium Foyer, 320 Seventh Avenue, Troy, NY, (Rear of the High School). The boundaries of Election District No. 1 are north of 101st Street to south of 118th Street. ELECTION DISTRICT No. 2: Inhabitants of this district will vote at the Turn- pike Elementary School, Gymnasium, 55 New Turnpike Road, Troy, NY. The boundaries of Election District No. 2 are north of 118 th Street to the end of Pleasantdale; Northern Drive; Corliss Park; Miami Beach Estates; High- pointe; all of Brunswick 7; and all of Speigletown. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required to fund the School District's budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, exclusive of public monies, may be obtained by any resident of the District during school business hours beginning May 5, 2026, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays, at the District Office; the Public Library; and at each of the following schools: Turnpike Elementary School, Rensselaer Park Elementary School, Knickerbacker Middle School and Lan- singburgh High School. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that petitions nominating candi- dates for the office of member of the Board of Education will be obtainable from the District Clerk in the District Office located at 55 New Turnpike Road, Troy, New York, and that petitions nominating candidates for the office of mem- ber of the Board of Education shall be filed with the District Clerk in said Dis- trict Office not later than 5:00 p.m. on April 20, 2026. Vacancies on the Board of Education are not considered separate, specific offices; candidates run at large. Nominating petitions must be directed to the District Clerk; must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the District; musţ state the name and residence of each signer; and must state the name and residence of the candidate. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that applications for early mail and absentee ballots are obtainable from the District Clerk at the District Office located at 55 New Turnpike Road, Troy, New York between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee and early mail ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m., prevailing time, on May 19, 2026. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that military voters not currently registered may apply to register as a qualified voters of the school district by requesting a person- al registration application from the District Clerk at 518-233-6850 or cwil- liams@lansingburgh.org. For a military voter to be registered as a qualified voter, the District Clerk must have received a valid personal registration ap- plication no later than 5:00 pm on April 23, 2026. In the request for a personal registration application, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application by mail, facsimile transmission, or electronic mail. A list of persons to whom early mail and absentee voter ballots have been issued will be available for public inspection during regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the District Office until the day of the election and at poll sites on the day of the election. Any qualified voter may, upon exami- nation of such list, file a written challenge of the qualifications as a voter of any person whose name appears on such list, stating the reasons for such challenge. A challenge to an absentee voter may not be made on the basis that the voter should have applied for an early mail ballot. A challenge to an early mail voter may not be made on the basis that the voter should have applied for an absentee ballot. Such written challenge will be transmitted by the District Clerk to the inspectors of election on the day of the vote. A list of persons to whom military voter ballots have been issued will be avail- able for public inspection during regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the District Office until the day of the election and at the poll sites on the day of the election. Any qualified voter may, upon examination of such list, file a written challenge of the qualifications as a voter of any person whose name appears on such list, stating the reasons for such challenge. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that personal registration of vot- ers, pursuant to Section 2014 of the Education Law, will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and the place for said registration will be held at the District Office located at 55 New Turn- pike Road, Troy, New York. At such time, the members of the Board of Reg- istration will meet to prepare the register of the school district and during which time, any person will be entitled to have his or her name placed upon such register, provided that at such meeting of the members of the Board of Registration he or she is known or proven to the satisfaction of such Board of Registration to be then or thereafter entitled to vote at the school elec- tion for which such register is prepared.
