SUFFOLK COUNTY BID NOTICE PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Riverhead Fire District, sealed bids for the replacement of three (3) packaged rooftop HVAC units and related equipment at Fire Headquarters of the Riverhead Fire District will be received at the office of the Board of Fire Commissioners at Fire Headquarters, located at 540 Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901 until 12:00 PM (prevailing time) on the 17th day of March, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes at the above address and shall bear on the face thereof the name and address of the bidder. All bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Riverhead Fire District, in accordance with the specifications and instructions to Bidders. Requests for detailed plans should be submitted via email to District Manager Frank Darrow at districtmanager@riverheadfiredistrict.org. Include in subject line: RTU REPLACEMENT BID. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on March 3rd at 10:00 AM on-site at Headquarters. A Bid Bond or bank check in the amount of at least five (5%) percent of the base bid must accompany each bid. A full performance bond together with payment bond shall be required of the successful bidder. All prospective bidders are advised that, prior to submitting a bid on this project, they must register with the NYS Department of Labor, in compliance with NYS Labor Law section 220-i. A Certificate of Registration must accompany each bid. The contract for the above item will be awarded by the Board of Fire Commissioners to the lowest responsible bidder. In cases where two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price, the Board of Fire Commissioners may award the contract to either of such bidders. The Board of Fire Commissioners reserve the right to reject all bids and/or re-advertise for new bids in its discretion and/or to waive any informality in any bid which it deems immaterial in nature. The Fire District will not accept Bids from, nor award a Contract tom anyone who cannot satisfactorily prove to that they have sufficient experience in this type of construction and financially able and organized to successfully carry out the work covered by the Plans and Specifications in the required completion time. Special qualification requirements are contained in the Contract Documents. No bids may be withdrawn by any bidder for a period of forty-five (45) days from the date of bid opening.
