NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On May 1, 2026, The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries proposed to enhance an existing artificial reef (AR-360) by adding up to 50 additional reef balls at Artificial Reef #360, or AR-360, and specific information on the reef's composition can be found by visiting the NC Division of Marine Fisheries website (found at http://portal.nedenr.org/web/mf/lookout-fear/ar-360-reef). AR-360 is located in State Ocean waters, approximately 2.7 nautical miles NE of Topsail Inlet. Copies of these applications can be examined or copied at the office of Genny Ivec, N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405, (910) 796-7251 during normal business hours. Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to May 27, 2026 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies.
