ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids for the furnishings of all labor, materials, equipment and services for the HEADWALL AND ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION known as Lincoln Avenue Headwall and Roadway Project will be received by the City of Melbourne, 502 Garfield Avenue, Melbourne, Kentucky, until 10:00 AM EST on March 6, 2026. Bids will be publicly opened and read immediately after the deadline for submittal and will be reviewed at the City Commission meeting at 7:00 PM on March 9, 2026. The project will include, but not limited to, approximately 305 SY Asphalt Pavement Removal, 975 CY of Embankment, 2 Concrete Headwalls, 300 CY Class II Channel Lining, 320 SY of 12' wide Asphalt Roadway, Final Grading and Best Management Practice. Complete sets of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Eastern Engineering for a Cost of $50.00 at Eastern Engineering, 434 Scott Blvd., Covington, KY 41011. Phone (859) 261-1851. Check Payable to Eastern Engineering. Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to The City of Melbourne in an amount of five percent (5%) of Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified bank check or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of the General Conditions. The Bid security of Successful Bidder will be retained until such Bidder has executed the Agreement, furnished the required contract security and met the other conditions of the Notice of Award, whereupon the Bid security will be returned. If the Successful Bidder fails to execute and deliver the Agreement and furnish the required contract security within fifteen days after the Notice of Award, Owner may annul the Notice of Award and the Bid security of that Bidder will be forfeited. The Bid security of other Bidders whom Owner believes to have a reasonable chance of receiving the award may be retained by Owner for a period of sixty days after the Bid opening, whereupon Bid security furnished by such Bidders will be returned. Bid security with Bids, which are not competitive, will be returned within seven days after the Bid opening. No bidders may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the closing time for receipt of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or part thereof, to waive formalities and to negotiate with the apparent qualified best bidder to such extent as may be in the City's best interest.
