Ordinance No. 8725 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 921 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DEFIANCE, OHIO WHEREAS, the City requires utility customers who are renting residential properties to place a deposit in order to minimize the risk of non-collection; and, WHEREAS, the deposit amount is refundable upon the closing of the utilities account; and, WHEREAS, the recommended changes will protect the rate payers by ensuring that the customer pays the account in full and that all customer checks clear through all accounts prior to refunding the deposit; Now therefore, be it enacted by the Council of the Municipality of Defiance, Ohio, that: Section 1: The identified sections of Chapter 921 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Defiance, Ohio are hereby amended to provide (deleted text stricken, newly added text underlined): 921.02 DEFINITIONS.
