VILLAGE OF ABERDEEN, OHIOORDINANCE NO. 2026-02AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING REVISED USER RATESFOR THE VILLAGE OF ABERDEEN RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE COLLECTIONWHEREAS, The present user rates for the Village of Aberdeen garbage collection are not adequate to meet the needs of the wastewater department, andWHEREAS, the Village of Aberdeen's contract with Rumpke runs through June 2025.WHEREAS, it is necessary to revise the garbage collection rates in order that the Village of Aberdeen can remain fiscally sound.NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Aberdeen, Brown County, Ohio, a majority or more of all members thereof, concurring as follows:Section 1: That there is levied and assessed upon each resident until and non-resident until serviced by the Village of Aberdeen or its authorized contractor for garbage collection, a monthly charge determinable and payable as provided in this Ordinance.Section 2: From and after the effective date of this Ordinance, the following monthly rates and charges shall apply to each customer services effective 03-01-2026.In-town Residential unit - $25.00/monthOut-of-town Residential unit - $25.00/monthMillston Apartments $1,200.00/monthRiverbend Apartments $1,200.00/monthSection 3: From and after the effective date 03-01-2026 customers that owe back bills are capped at $1,000.00.Section 4: That any ordinance or part of any ordinance or resolution conflicting with a section of this ordinance, specifically Ordinance 2025-04 is hereby repealed.Section 5: That this ordinance is hereby read three times per the law in open council meetings on the following dates: 1st reading 10-16-2025 2nd reading 11-21-2025 3rd reading 12-18-2025 and is effective from and after the earliest date allowed by law.PASSED ✓William EastwoodRhonda Purdon, Fiscal OfficerBCP 02-15-26, 02-22-26
