LEGAL NOTICE Margaret Creek Supplemental Watershed Plan for Public Comment Project Location: Athens County, Ohio Project Website: https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/state-offices/ohio/ margaret-creek-supplemental-watershed-plan-for-public-comment The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is soliciting comments on a draft Watershed Plan. The draft Watershed Plan for the Margaret Creek Structures 1 (Meeks Lake) and 6 (Fox Lake) Rehabilitation Project in Athens County, Ohio, was developed in partnership with the Margaret Creek Conservancy District. The plan analyzes measures for flood prevention (flood damage reduction) through the Pub. L. 83-566 Small Watershed Program. The preferred alternative in the plan includes elevating the embankment of each structure by two to three feet, increasing flow capacity of the auxiliary spillways, and modernizing the internal drainage systems.
