NOTICE OF ELECTION ON TAX LEVY IN EXCESS OF THE TEN MILL LIMITATION KENT CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of resolutions of the Board of Education of the Kent City School District, Portage County in Ohio passed on December 16, 2025 and January 13, 2026, there will be submitted to a vote of the people of the Kent City School District at a Primary Election to be held at the regular places of voting on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the question of an additional tax levy for the purpose of current expenses. Tax being an additional tax of 9.8 mills that the county auditor estimates will collect $8,522,335 annually, at a rate not exceeding 9.8 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $343 for each $100,000 dollars of the county auditor's market value, for a continuing period of time, commencing in 2026, first due in calendar year 2027. The amount by which the carry over balance in the School District's general operating budget from the preceding fiscal year exceeds the district's general fund expenditures made in the preceding fiscal year is $0, which is 0% of those expenditures. The polls for said election will be open at 6:30 a.m., and will remain open until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
