Shrader Quarry Large Non Coal Industrial Minerals Surface Mine Permit # 44030302 Renewal Application for Individual NPDES Permit Associated with Mining Activities Pursuant to the:" Non-coal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act" and the" Clean Streams Law" notice is hereby given that Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., (GOH) 1952 Waddle Road, State College, PA 16803 has submitted a renewal INPDES application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for an Individual NPDES Permit Associated with Mining Activities to support the existing Surface Non-Coal Mining Permit # 44030302 in Armagh Township, Mifflin County, PA known as the Shrader Quarry. The NPDES renewal application does not propose changes to the existing mine permit. The existing mine permit site is 110.6 acres and is situated approximately 3.5 miles northeast of Reedsville, PA off of Honey Creek Road. From US Route 322, take Reedsville exit, turning left onto old US 322 into the town of Reedsville, take left onto Logan Avenue continue .2 miles and take left on to Honey Creek Road, continue straight on Honey Creek Road approximately 3.67 miles, quarry entrance is located on the right. The receiving stream for this permit area is Honey Creek, designed as a High Quality Cold Water Fishes stream. The burnham, PA U.S. Geological 7.5 minute topographic map contains the area described. A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Mifflin County Conservation District Office at 20 Windmill Hill #4, Burnham, PA 17009. Written comments, objections, or a request for an informal conference or public hearing may be submitted to the DEP, Cambria District Mining Office, 286 Industrial Park Road, Ebensburg, PA 15931 within 30 days of the final (4th) publication of this notice and must include the person's name, address, telephone number and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection (s).
