NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING RACCOON TOWNSHIP ZONING HEARING BOARD The Raccoon Township Zoning Hearing Board will convene for a public hearing on Thursday, April 30, 2026, beginning at 5:30 P.M., at the Raccoon Township Municipal Building, located at 1234 State Route 18 Aliquippa, Pennsylvania 15001. The purpose of this hearing is to take testimony in consideration of the application made by Craig and Jolie Vorse for a Use Variance request related to the construction of a second dwelling unit at 229 Raccoon Creek Road Aliquippa, PA 15001, and further identified as Tax Parcel No. 75-182-0308.003. §185-46.A of the Township Zoning Code Chapter 185 generally states that, “except as specifically provided elsewhere in this chapter, no lot shall have more than one principal structure…”, allowing only for “one additional single-family mobile (manufactured) home dwelling unit to be occupied by a relative” as an exemption under §185-46.C. There is currently a dwelling unit located on the subject parcel, and the applicant is therefore seeking relief from §185-46.A to allow for a second (nonmobile/manufactured) single-family dwelling to be constructed on the property. Prior to this hearing commencing, the Raccoon Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a brief Reorganization Meeting to reappoint their Solicitor and select positions within the Board. Any interested parties are invited to attend.
