PUBLIC NOTICE Pursuant to the Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act, notice hereby is given that Joe Kuperavage Coal Company, 325 Wilson Avenue, Port Carbon, PA 17965, has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, for renewing its existing surface mining permit. The current permit number 54000103 was issued on June 5, 2001 and will expire on June 5, 2026. This renewal does not contain revisions requiring public notice to the existing operation. The receiving stream for the permit area is the Schuylkill River. The operation is located in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania and is known as the Midport Stripping Operation. The 250.8 acre permit area is situated 1.2 miles southeast of the Borough of New Philadelphia. The Orwigsburg Pa., U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute topographic map contains the area described.
