Public hearing on zoning ordinance amendment scheduled for April 15, 2026.

NOTICE

Notice is hereby given by Borough Council for the Borough of Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, that Council will hold a public hearing on April 15, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the second floor Council Chambers, 55 East Main Street, Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to consider and receive public comment on a proposed ordinance to amend the Borough of Waynesboro Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map as summarized below. Following the conclusion of the hearing, the proposed ordinance will be considered for adoption at the regularly scheduled public meeting of the Council of the Borough of Waynesboro, which will immediately follow the aforementioned public hearing on April 15, 2026.
 
The title of the proposed Ordinance is "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF WAYNESBORO, FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING THE BOROUGH OF WAYNESBORO ZONING MAP, AS ADOPTED AND MADE PART OF THE BOROUGH OF WAYNESBORO ZONING ORDINANCE IN CHAPTER 295, ARTICLE III, SECTION 295-10 OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF WAYNESBORO TO REFLECT THE REZONING OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTIES IN THE BOROUGH TO THE MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (RM) DISTRICT AND AMENDING CHAPTER 295 OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF WAYNESBORO, "ZONING", TO CLARIFY THE VISIBILITY REGULATIONS AT INTERSECTING STREETS AND TO PROVIDE FURTHER REGULATIONS REGARDING THE EXPIRATION OF ZONING PERMITS."
 
If enacted, the proposed ordinance will amend the Zoning Map by removing 23 townhouse units located along North Potomac Street from the Institutional (INST) District and designating them as part of the Medium Density Residential (RM) District. If enacted, the proposed ordinance will amend the Borough of Waynesboro Zoning Ordinance, Section 295-75 entitled "Visibility at Intersections", to clarify the visibility regulations at intersecting streets. The proposed ordinance will also amend Section 295-127 entitled, "General zoning permit regulations" to establish further regulations regarding the expiration of zoning permits for uses which have not been completed within eighteen (18) months from the date of issuance of the zoning permit.

The Council Chambers and Borough Hall are handicapped accessible.
