PUBLIC NOTICE The Richmond Police Department Property & Evidence Unit is in possession of an assortment of handguns, rifles, and shotguns that have been unclaimed by the owners, or the owners are unknown. These weapons will be destroyed after May 10, 2026 in accordance with 15.2-1719 and 15.2-1721 Code of Virginia. Anyone who wishes to claim a weapon must furnish proof of ownership, such as bill of sale, Federal Firearms registration form, or be able to describe the weapon in detail. Inquiries should be directed to the Richmond Police Department Property & Evidence Unit, 1451 Commerce Rd, Richmond, Virginia 23224.
