ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Birch Bay Water and Sewer District 2026 Water Main and Fire Hydrant Replacement Project Notice is hereby given that Birch Bay Water and Sewer District will receive sealed bids for construction of the 2026 Water Main and Fire Hydrant Replacement Project. The bids for the above contract will be received at the offices of Birch Bay Water and Sewer District until May 14, 2026, 10:00 am local time, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Principal items of the project are: Schedules A, B, and C include installation of approximately 800 lineal feet of 6" ductile iron water main, approximately 1,075 lineal feet of 8" ductile iron water main and 100 lineal feet of 2" water main, water main appurtenances, three connections to existing water main, as well as road and private improvements restoration and related work. Existing water main to be abandoned shall be decommissioned, filled and capped as part of the project. Schedules A, B, and C, consist of planned improvements independent of each other at three different sites. Schedule D includes replacement of twenty existing fire hydrants and connecting to an existing foot valve, graded fire hydrant accesses, and installation of water system appurtenances in the locations listed. Each bid shall be in accordance with the Project Manual which includes Specifications, Contract Drawings and other Contractor Documents. Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on "Posted Projects", "Public Works", and "Birch Bay Water and Sewer District". This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders "Register" in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the "Self Registered Bidders List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project. Contact Builders Exchange of Washington at 425-258-1303 should you require assistance with access or registration. The estimated cost of construction, not including applicable taxes, is approximately $942,000 Bidders and/or contractors are notified to examine thoroughly the bid instructions, proposals, the form of Contract, Drawings and Specifications. If there be any doubt or obscurity as to the meaning of same, intending bidders or contractors should ask the Engineers for an explanation before submitting their proposal and/or accepting their Contract. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Cashier's Check or Certified Check, made payable to the Birch Bay Water and Sewer District Treasurer as indicated in the Instruction for Bidders. The three lowest bids may not be withdrawn for 60 days after the day of bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding.
