OFFICE OF THE HEARING EXAMINER TOWN OF BEAUX ARTS VILLAGE, WASHINGTON NOTICE PUBLIC HEARING TREE EXCEPTION REQUEST A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE CONDUCTED 2:00 PM ON TUESDAY, MARCH 18th, 2026 FOR THE FOLLOWING MATTER: TREE EXCEPTION 25-1, Carroll, 2821 105th Ave SE Request to remove one protected tree The public hearing is for the purpose of taking testimony in an open record hearing on the tree exception application. The applicant intends to submit an application for a new single-family residence (SFR) and detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU). As part of this building permit proposal, the applicant is requesting to relocate the driveway connection to access the DADU. The new driveway location would require the removal of one privately owned protected tree: Tree 2860 – 30.5” Western red cedar (Thuja plicata) BAVMC 16.25.020. limits removal of protected trees to trees located within the building footprint, or to trees that would become hazardous by the construction of the building. Town Staff have determined that this is not the case for the identified tree. The applicant has requested an exception to this tree removal limitation under BAV 16.25.140. This tree removal would be in addition to 7 protected trees proposed for removal for the construction of 2 new buildings (1 SFR and 1 DADU). Notice is hereby given that the Town of Beaux Arts Village Hearing Examiner will conduct a Public Hearing on March 18th, 2026 at 2pm. This hearing will be held using remote meeting technology. To participate in this hearing, please email the Town at bldgdept@beauxarts-wa.gov at least one hour before the scheduled meeting time and you will receive further instructions. Additionally, written comments for this application may be submitted prior to the hearing via mail or email and such comments will be given the same weight as public testimony.
